About Abu Dhabi
GCAS is based in Abu Dhabi, a diverse, cosmopolitan and dynamic city with much to offer its visitors and residents.
What you can see and do
The capital of the United Arab Emirates offers an abundance of cultural, sporting and leisure attractions and large-scale events broadcast on the world stage.
Don’t forget to take a complimentary guided tour of the awe-inspiring Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. It is one of the world’s largest, and a beacon for worshippers and culture-seekers alike, as are the city’s ancient forts and still celebrated traditions such as falconry. By contrast, luxury hotels and resorts like Emirates Palace and The Yas Hotel set Abu Dhabi apart as a progressive tourist haven.
Fine dining abounds, as do opportunities for more affordable fare in numerous city centre outlets.
Shopping is as diverse as the Emirate – there’s everything from marble-clad malls with haute couture brands to a textile souk (market) tucked away behind the main Hamdan Centre and a carpet souk at the Mina (Port).
Alongside its vibrant arts scene, Abu Dhabi also offers some of the region’s most exciting sporting events, a prime example being the Etihad Airways Formula 1™ Abu Dhabi Grand Prix held at the iconic Yas Marina Circuit.
There also plenty for the kids to do with the opening of Yas Waterworld on Yas island.
